The major reason we do litter pickups is to keep the park safer for the dogs under our care as well as the doggies of the neighbourhood. I have picked up a lot of sharp objects such as skewers, fish hooks, pins, nails etc which could potentially be harmful to the doggies as well as other animals like otters, monitor lizards, roosters etc who frequent the park. However, most of the kudos should go to the custodians/cleaners of the park who keep the park clean. They are the unsung heroes.
