Stridy Terms of Use

1. Introduction
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Stridy mobile app and related services, including the Stridy Impact Dashboard at stridy.com/community-impact-dashboard (also accessible at data.stridy.com).
By creating a Stridy account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Stridy.
Stridy is operated by STRIDY LIMITED, 8 Cross Street, Manulife Tower, #20-01, Singapore 048424.
2. Account Registration
To use Stridy, you need to create an account. You can sign up using your email address or through Google, Facebook, or Apple.
When you create an account:
- You must provide a valid email address
- You will choose a username that is displayed publicly in the app and on the Impact Dashboard. We strongly recommend that you do not use your real name. Choose a nickname or alias instead. Your username is visible to anyone on the public dashboard (see Section 9), and Stridy is not responsible for any consequences if you choose to use your real name.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure
- You should not share your account with others
- You may only create one account per person
- Usernames must not be offensive, impersonate others, or violate any laws
If we suspect an account contains false information or is being misused, we may suspend or delete it.
3. What Stridy Does
Stridy is an environmental cleanup app. It allows you to:
- Track cleanup walks (“strides”) — the app uses your phone’s GPS to track your route while you pick up litter
- Record what you collect — log the types and quantities of litter you pick up, and take photos
- Earn points — you earn points based on your cleanup activity
- Join teams — participate in group cleanups and see your team’s combined impact
- View your impact — see your personal stats and how you compare to other users
Your cleanup activity is shown on the Stridy Impact Dashboard (stridy.com/community-impact-dashboard, also accessible at data.stridy.com), which is publicly accessible. See Section 9 for details.
4. User Conduct
When using Stridy, you agree to:
- Use the app for genuine cleanup activities only
- Not submit fake or misleading stride data (e.g., recording strides without actually picking up litter)
- Not upload offensive, illegal, or inappropriate photos
- Not attempt to manipulate the points system, leaderboard rankings, or any other part of the service
- Follow all local laws regarding litter collection, public spaces, and environmental activities during your strides
- Not collect or harvest other users’ personal information from the app or dashboard
- Not upload malware, viruses, or malicious code of any kind
- Not infringe on the intellectual property rights of Stridy or any third party
- Not use the service for spam, unsolicited messages, or commercial solicitation
We reserve the right to remove data or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
5. Points and Rewards
Stridy awards points for completing strides and collecting litter. You may be able to redeem points for rewards from Stridy’s partners.
Important things to know about points:
- Points have no monetary value and cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash
- Reward redemption codes may have expiry dates
- We may adjust point values, modify the rewards programme, or change how points are earned at any time
- If we detect fraudulent activity (e.g., fake strides), we may remove points from your account
6. Teams
You can create or join teams in Stridy.
- Open teams can be joined by anyone
- Closed teams require an invitation code
- Team creators can manage team membership
- Strides can be attributed to a team
- Team names and combined stats are publicly visible on the Impact Dashboard
7. Online Shop
Stridy sells litter picking tools and apparel through the online shop at stridy.com/shop.
When you make a purchase:
- All prices are listed in the currency shown at the time of purchase and may change without prior notice
- You must provide accurate and complete billing and shipping information
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion
- Product images and descriptions aim to be accurate, but we cannot guarantee exact colour or appearance on every screen
- Shipping is primarily within Singapore. Availability for international orders may vary.

8. Content You Upload
When you upload photos, descriptions, or other content through the app:
- You retain ownership of your content — it remains yours
- You grant STRIDY LIMITED a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display your content within the Stridy app and on the Stridy Impact Dashboard for the purpose of operating the service
- This licence does not extend to using your content for external marketing or promotional purposes without your separate permission
- You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content (e.g., don’t upload photos you don’t own)
- You must not upload content that is illegal, offensive, or infringes on anyone else’s rights
When you delete your account, your uploaded content is deleted along with your stride data.
9. Public Data on the Impact Dashboard
The Stridy Impact Dashboard is publicly accessible at stridy.com/community-impact-dashboard and data.stridy.com. The following data is visible to anyone without needing to log in:
- Your username — shown on map markers and leaderboard. This is why we recommend not using your real name as your username.
- Stride locations — shown as points on an interactive map
- Activity stats — items collected, distance, duration, and points per stride
- Leaderboard rankings — your username and stats compared to other users
By using Stridy, you agree to this public display of your activity data.
Research Use
Anonymised stride data (GPS locations, litter types, quantities, and distances — never your username or email) may be shared with universities, researchers, or organisations for studies related to civic engagement, volunteering, or environmental impact. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual Property
The Stridy app, brand, mascot, logo, and design are the property of STRIDY LIMITED.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the app or its content
- Use the Stridy name or logo without our written permission
- Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app
11. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from within the app (go to Profile > Edit Profile > Delete Account).
When you delete your account:
- Your profile, stride data, GPS records, collected item records, and activity history are permanently deleted
- Your uploaded photos are deleted
- If you subscribed to the Stridy newsletter, your email may remain in our mailing list — use the unsubscribe link in any Stridy email or contact us at hello@stridy.com to have it removed
We may also suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
12. Safety
Stridy is a tool for tracking cleanup activities. Your physical safety is your responsibility.
- Always be aware of your surroundings, including traffic, terrain, and weather conditions
- Do not pick up hazardous materials such as sharp objects, chemicals, medical waste, or anything that could be dangerous
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves, etc.) when picking up litter
- If you are participating in a group or school event, follow the instructions of the event organiser
- Stridy is not responsible for any injuries, accidents, or health issues that occur during cleanup activities
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
Stridy is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We do not guarantee that:
- The app will be available at all times or free from errors
- GPS tracking will be perfectly accurate
- Point calculations or leaderboard rankings will be error-free
- The app will be compatible with all devices
We do our best to keep the app running smoothly, but technical issues may occur from time to time.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, STRIDY LIMITED shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app
- Loss of data, points, or account access due to technical issues
- Any injuries or damages sustained during cleanup activities
- Actions taken by other users of the app
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless STRIDY LIMITED and its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Stridy app, website, or shop
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law
- Any content you upload through the service
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be deemed severable and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and STRIDY LIMITED regarding your use of the service. They supersede any prior agreements or communications.
18. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Singapore.
If you are based in the European Union, these Terms do not override any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under your local law.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
Your continued use of Stridy after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree with a change, you should stop using the app and delete your account.
